TO CATCH A MAX BUS

gray line
MAX buses only stop at locations marked with a bench, shelter and/or sign. Call 521-1274 before riding to find out where you can catch the bus in your area.

When at a marked stop, stand near the sign so the driver knows that you want to ride. The driver may not stop for you if it doesn't look like you want to ride. Back away from the curb as the bus approaches to avoid the mirror on the side of the bus.

PRIORITY SEATING

gray line
Certain seats on the bus are designated as priority seating for passengers with disabilities and seniors. The bus operator may request an ambulatory passenger occupying priority seating to move if a passenger with disabilities or a senior boards. Your cooperation in honoring such requests is appreciated.

USING BIKE RACKS

gray line
Use your bike in combination with MAX to make your travel even more convenient!  All MAX buses are now equipped with bike racks.

Our bike racks accommodate 2 bikes at a time, and are designed to keep your bike away from the bus and other bikes.  It's easy and convenient, loading takes less than 20 seconds.

No additional fare is required when using the bike racks, so whether you're on your way to work, school, or play, bring your bike along for the ride.  For more information, see our Bike-N-Bus brochure.

WHEELCHAIR USERS

gray line
Each MAX route is wheelchair accessible. All MAX buses begin each day with working wheelchair lifts; however, lifts are susceptible to unpredictable breakdowns during operation.  All wheelchairs must be secured with tie-down straps while in the bus.

BOARDING THE BUS

gray line
When boarding MAX, please have your pass, ticket or transfer ticket ready to give to the driver. When you are paying cash, please have EXACT change ready to deposit in the fare box. Remember, the driver does not carry change!

EXITING THE BUS

gray line
One block before your stop, pull the cord over the window or push the yellow tape strip. The driver will then stop the bus as close to the next marked bus stop as can be done safely. Please exit through the rear door so that boarding passengers may enter through the front door.
